Utouto Fumi Yanagimoto Small Print Works
Printmaker Yanagimoto Fumi is an artist who lives by collecting warmth and sunlight from his memories. While he sometimes dozes off in reality, his gaze in the world of his memories is extremely awake. This book is a collection of 114 small prints that the artist carved and printed every day, like sketches, while living with his family and animals. The opening page features seven works framed in antique frames, which are essential to understanding Yanagimoto’s work. In addition, the book includes snapshots of the artist’s studio and everyday scenes taken by photographer Shimizu Harumi, an appendix with a piece of prose by the artist himself, and a detailed list of his works.
