Memoirs of Plastisol on Jefferson to East 7th Street
This zine is a deep dive into creative studio Dynamic Dynosaurs’ archives spanning back to 2004. Created by Dynamic Dynosaur and Rad Shyt Labs founder Dino Manuel, Kounterpart is a design thesis that was created in Brooklyn on Jefferson Street. To provide better context about “Kounterpart,” our designers uploaded part of Dino’s memory from a mind scan:
L-Train moments featuring two designers, Stuart Lyle (Ideas Original) and myself. East 7th Street: home to the ideas I was coming up with as a young artist at the time. Midnight sessions of screen-printing at Jefferson or Steve Kennedy's classroom at Parsons School of Design. Bombing and littering Dynos all over the city. We weren't afraid to try, and try we did. Homemade UV exposure kits to wheatpasting in Soho. Feasting on Nicky's $2.50 Vietnamese sandwiches. Herb Lubalin was a god. Always the perfume-like smell of plastisol. These are my origins that led to a lifelong obsession.
